Kulturhavn, the Copenhagen’s annual summer harbour festival, hosted a poster design competition for its 2015 visual identity, inviting submissions from designers around the world.
My entry poster hides the nautical welcoming message Ohøj - it is the Danish translation for Ahoy, which it’s used in a maritime context as a general greeting. Unfortunately, the power and meaning of the word is being lost!
The typography is a traditional Danish typeface, and brings a perfect balance of fun, dynamism, and Danish style.
Furthermore, the waves on the logo underline the vibes of the culture and its activities, and symbolize the waves of the sea.
Perfect for maps and brochures, poster columns in different formats, or any other item - depending on the size the message can be simly resized, stretched, and adapted to every case without losing meaning and identity.
